you would think

that I would learn wouldn’t you?

Having decided (thanks to all of you) that getting completely adjusted to Germany time was not critical (pointless?) I just went to bed when I got tired enough to sleep. Didn’t set an alarm, didn’t think I would need one.

So there I am, sleeping the sleep of the just; the nearly dead and drooling. Then there is a daughter in the room. Plane reservations? I had insisted last night that I needed her assistance. Since these are to attend a wedding in Sept, we were starting to head into a time crunch. She was wiped out last night and really just didn’t want to cope. Like the kind passive person I am, I just let it slide so that I could continue whatever novel was on the screen.

I was obviously brain dead so Maus found my computer for me, my wallet, her dad.

Slowly pulled out of Zombieville headed toward Travelocity on the Chrome Express . After trying unsuccessfully to get the website to provide me with connections I liked, I gave up and we went to connections it liked. Then swapped over directly to Delta. As the dude reminded me – LGA is the domestic airport….. United is our standard but using Delta saved enough to pay for a car service back to the dorm on Sunday evening.

Going back to sleep 30 minutes later seemed stupid, especially after a caffeine infusion. Comfortable on the couch I started catching up on forums, emails and general all around maintenance. I took pictures of all completed projects for both blog and web. (this involved cameras, finding batteries, memory cards…

Then I went to Ravelry. Had I bothered to write down start and stop dates?
No
How about needle sizes or yarn?
Of course not
Pattern alterations or changes?
You have got to be kidding!

Thinking I would do an end run – I hooked up the camera.

Now, prior to today exactly how many pictures do you think I took of any of these shawls? Normally I take pictures of the yarn, the first bit, 1-3 during and several at the end both blocked and unblocked. (hint, the base number of shawls of shawls here is three) Or how about the cowl for which I started the upper facing Saturday at the Heidelberg Strikktreff?

Since Saturday was the first time I picked up knitting needles since I have been home, I might be able to reconstruct the information on the cowl (yarn purchased in Ketchikan – earliest date possible. More likely the sea day on the way to Vancouver?

Anyway – I whined about this after the Transatlantic trips, after the Costa Cruise that you would think I could do better. I have figured out how to coral all needed trip documentation. I just need to start writing details on the patterns, after all most are print at home. Otherwise I might just blame my guy for just being so distracting that knitting priority drops when he is around?

Who says I can’t use ……. brains…….

One Response to you would think

  1. Uh-huh. This is why so many of my projects never show up on Ravelry at all! 😉
