It is an amazing city, even more so because it doe not look all that appealing when docking in a commercially extremely busy port.

Admittedly there are a few hints –

And an attempt to cycle back and forth between iPad and iPhone was not successful.

Where was I? Oh yes walking through the quiet streets of a city that doesn’t come awake till 1100.

The architecture is amazing with Moorish, medieval, gothic, baroque, Art Deco and church excess all blending together.

There are extensive parks stretching along perhaps 1/2 of the city in what must have been an old river bed now home to soccer fields fountains and dozens of jogging and bike paths being occupied by people and the dogs, serious runners and dozens of youngsters on bicycles.

Perhaps the best of all is the Estacion du Nord which is a marvel of design and ceramics.

The clock may give you some idea. I have more photos but they will have to wait till camera and computer make acquaintance.

And if you are into National Costumes, in El Corte Ingles you can buy the costumes or the makings.
