The Good Thing
About getting home a day early is that the guy who is suffering with tooth pain was able to be seen first thing this morning. He, along with Maus who also has a dying tooth attempted to go in last night to the Emergency Dental Clinic but the line was almost out the door due to the dental consequences of a bit too much exuberance on the part of more than one young person.
(aka, drunks fight, break teeth, knock out teeth and otherwise regret their actions when the alcohol wears off).
Neither of mine do pain very well. On the other hand, if they are complaining then they are obviously breathing well and managing at least some mental processing.
So I am grateful that we had decided against any plans for the evening. I never feel like going out once I am home and George is recovering. Maus is much better and headed out this evening.
Can’t keep a college student home over the holidays, apparently.
So the year ends. I knitted more than 15 shawls, as many scarves and a few other things that appealed at the time. From looking at the list, I read at least 265 books (eBooks, paperback, library and audio). Attended a number of board meetings both in person and by conference call, did a few consults, went to some professional meetings and did a lot of patient education where ever I was.
Retirement is good, life is even greater.
I saw the dental thing. I had hoped it was temporary. Infection? 2012 is going out with a thud. Glad they are better, and hope that isn’t just temporary.
