Singapore Airlines Lounge

At SFO isn’t big, noisy and flashy like the United Lounge. Not inundated with people in a hurry. Not stocked with carrot sticks, cheese and crackers and more than enough bad coffee. Instead it is tucked around the corner on the main floor to the right after International Security/TSA.  It has coffee. It has hot water and tea and expresso and free alcohol for those who just can’t face the morning. The small breakfast area has yogurt, bananas, donuts and pastries along with some cereal. There is salad. Oh, and cup of Noodle!. Unfortunately none of them specify MSG content.

One can also have congee for breakfast

with or without spoon or chopsticks

My flight leaves just after 0900. It is 17 1/2 hours to Singapore non-stop. I have books, I have knitting. I have every intention of getting some sleep. So far there seems to be only one child in business class. I am hoping that he is not too terribly loud. His father is certainly making every effort to keep him well in hand.

Ah, the second small person has been spotted. This one in a blue onsie and still with the wobbly head.

I’ll let you know when I have arrived safely in Singapore. Please remember that the dates are going to get confused as the International Dateline comes into play (as it is GMT+8 which puts it 16 hours ahead of California).

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!

actually saw your email prior to take off. After that? I never did check to see if I could access Internet on the plane. Unplugging for a day wasn’t bad at all!
