Perhaps there is a floor

in my craft room after all. At least I think I can walk across it now without too many things going crunch or me slipping and falling down. I am still trying to figure out completely what goes where. But I think I have at least three more bins to go to the garage and have done some major reorganization. I can now get to both built in drawers and 1 of 2 built in cupboards. I also have enough floor space now to consider a major move around on my sewing table & extra desk.  But mostly it is the extra floor space which is important.

The downside? Out of sight, out of mind more than likely. And I would really like to use up a lot of fabric in this coming year. Not just yarn and stitching supplies, but actually sewing fabric.

Anyway –

We went to the Cal Women’t Basketball game today against Washington State. George goes for the Basketball – I go for the band. It was another iteration of the Alumni Band since Cal really doesn’t start up again till this week. One couple said it had been 35 years since they graduated….

The game ended 73-72 Cal in overtime. Washington State was really aggressive, shot well and made their free-throws. Cal had their usual issues in the 2nd & 3rd quarters with not quite having it together. Plus one of the refs was calling fouls that no one else saw…

I made further progress on two things today (besides the clean up) – have the 2 color spiral Ten Stitch blanket finally figured out which now means I just go around and round till I run out of the darker blue yarn – then add the second cake of it.

and  436 stitches into a new cross-stitch project on 20 ct Darlin’ by Fortnight Fabrics. with yesterday’s start, this puts me at a whopping m1.2%

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!
