Not Today

Scottsdale, AZ

Well, it turned out not to be today, those deliveries. The furniture people called us about 1100 to say they had a truck problem and it would be tomorrow. Looking at the Home Depot invoice – it was always going to be tomorrow.

Instead, we went back over to Scottsdale Community College. Then, armed with documents, we found the Soldier’s Readiness Center for the Arizona National Guard. They have an ID Card office. Since Mr Blonde is back to being a full time student and under the age of 23, he goes back on my ID card. While we were there, I had a chance to talk to a very nice gentlemen in their retirement office. Seems like the VA didn’t finish processing my claim last year and they own me money. He suggested that the best way to deal with this would be to go to one of the offices in person and have them look me up in the system.

Oh, joy, more paperwork! But $$$? Can hardly turn that down.

Finished the day by placing the young man on a bicycle and sending him off. Now he has his own transportation.

“They own me money.” Why, yes, yes, they do. Heh.

  2. Ann says:

I didn’t realize Noah was changing colleges again. Is he going to live with your sister?

  3. Bill says:

Again my dear, you are suffering with luxury problems. ?

  4. Carmen says:

Yeah. Ditto for repair people. Except for Sears, which gives you a 4 hour window and then misses it by a day or 2.

  5. Chere says:

Sooo true- at least they do a two hour window here. Of course you can almost count on the arrival being in the last few minutes of it, unless you’re the first time slot of the day.

  6. Brad says:

I see it as a license to goof off.

No down side from my perspective!

The amount at 100% should be in the neighborhood of a couple of k tax free per month with about a $100 temporary reduction in your retirement pay.

And states can be very generous too, My Wohenwagen annual tag is $3.00 per year.
