No stitches for me
in a rare attack of common sense, I stayed in Berkeley today. I didn’t get in the car. I didn’t drive to Santa Clara. And I most certainly did not go to Stitches West.
I thought about it. Even had planned it. But when Alison became ill (my excuse for going so that we could spend a day together) I decided to honestly re-evaluate.
Do I need more yarn? No
Do I need more toys? No.
Are there other ways I could just as easily obtain said yarn and toys. Of course.
Can I possibly use up what I already have in this life plus, oh lets just ball park it at 30-40 years?
No.
So I didn’t go.
It certainly didn’t have anything to do with a migraine or everything I need to accomplish prior to flying home on Sunday.
Hope you feel better.
Thank you! Now I feel really good about my decision to stay home today. No Holly, no Alison…I need yarn like I need more books. I will miss the fun with the local knitting group, who almost all went today, and I will miss seeing Yarn Yenta (Heatherly) and Carrie from Irishgirlieknits, but I really could not take another day off school at this point in the game anyway.
Happy trails to you
It’s a cultural experience of its own and worth going for, but not with a migraine. I hope you feel better quickly.
I’ve been thinking along these lines also. 30-40 years? I’ve been thinking 10-20. LOL! Need to do a lot of tidying and using things up before I get to where I can’t use them anymore.
