Mostly Olympics

We do own a TV. It is mounted on the wall in the lounge/extra bedroom/den on the first floor. The first floor also has two bathrooms; one off the connecting hall and a tiny one with shower off the den.. That is not our main floor – that one has the living room, dining/office area, and kitchen. Those two areas are separated by three steps down to the main floor or five steps up from the main entry way. I don’t think geography dictated the split level in building in the 1930s – it was just what this particular did. Did I ever show you living room pictures?

Anyway – I decided, after figuring out that I was making entirely too many stitching mistakes that other choices would be a lot better. Specifically, organizing all the DMC that  just might be tucked away here and there. I have a lovely hanging file system as a master set which needed some refilling. I had purchased refills here and there, tossing them into baggies or a couple of bins, plus – a lot of zip bags from early on.

From sitting down at start of the women’s German/US Soccer game through the end of the cross-country portion of the Three Day equestrian event – I managed to get from 1-the end of the 600s. That leaves me plenty to do tomorrow and the next day and the ….

I am still pretty tired, which I will now relate to not getting enough sleep but my parotid infection swelling is smaller and a bit less tender.

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!

    Bah, humbug to the infection.
The Olympics I could not care less about. I am attempting to avoid them as much as possible. This is not difficult as I am packing books, arguing with Helen as to how many I am allowed to keep and so on. Sleep would be good!
