More than needed

There is a community bulletin board where individuals and groups can post notices. Most of the time the notes relate to meetings or “partner for bridge, euchre, mahjong etc needed.

Today this appeared

self explanatory

You see, there has been this major problem with whinging (UK) whining (US) and just all around obnoxious behavior.

I am not just addressing the self-important status seekers. The average bloke/ss seems to feel that they have to comment negatively on just about anything. Those 40 kids on ship come from 10 different countries. I don’t understand why the parents of the under 3 darlings seem to think they are entitled to have them out and about quite late in-spite of tears, but so be it. The little ones have an excuse. The older ones?

Smiles don’t cost anything. Saying thank you is not hard at all. Certainly it is not all that difficult to step out of the way and let the woman in the wheelchair exit on her floor rather than refuse to move which forces her to continue on the elevator for extra floors. And the suggestion of meeting in the Windjammer? Probably the place with the most difficulties as people proceed to be rude, push and shove.

According to several people who were on the previous cruise, the issues started on this leg. Admittedly, it is a rather international crowd which can lead to certain misunderstandings. Most of the rudeness on the part of those from the Continent relates to smokers. As for the rest of it? I am afraid that the Brits and Americans are the worst offenders. The Canadians seem to be maintaining the country stereotype of nice politeness.
