MIA

doesn’t just stand for Missing in Action. It also stands for Miami International Airport. Where, as it happens, WiFi is pretty much missing in action.

Now in the front of the terminal prior to check in there was no problem in connecting. It might just have been that the check-in desks for J are just not all that popular prior to noon since most of the international flights leave sometime mid->late afternoon or evening.

Or it just might be that the signal was stronger there.

In any case, I had no problems sending and receiving email, updating files and otherwise having a completely good time.

Then, after getting through security with toothpaste intact I wandered down to J17. The good thing was the outlets in the wall. The more difficult challenge was attempting to do anything with a flaky connection. But considering that I was leaving the really flaky and expensive connections on the ship – why should I care?

Now, the floor has become a bit harder than my bones want to stand. The iPhone is now charged and my Nook just about so. I am thinking it is just about time to find a more comfortable location on which to sit since I am sure that my battery will last the couple of hours till boarding.

  1. Happy trails, lady. Looking very winter-threatening here, but it’s all a bluff with the temps in the 50’s Fahrenheit. Still avoiding the stores on all but the middles of weekdays until after the new year. 😉
