Marin Headlands

When you go from here (Berkeley) to there (San Francisco) in possession of a car there are several ways you can do it. The most efficient is to get on the interstate and drive via 580 to the bridge, pay your toll with Fast Trak and off load at the hotel about 30 minutes later.

I suppose you could also drive south, down and around the southern tip of the inner bay and then drive north past the airport till you reached downtown.

The final method is to drive north, up and around the upper portion of the inner bay via Marin County and Sausalito (I think that is what I mean). Go figure, I don’t get it but then I am the passenger not the driver. The one who doesn’t like spending any more time in the car than is absolutely required. The one who doesn’t like going for drives and views cars as unfun but a neccasry means of getting from “here to there.”

It does mean that you can see the Marin Headlands in the fog. The Golden Gate Bridge in the fog and finally, the graffiti in the rooms up at the old fort.

I don’t know quite where you are – still in California?

  2. Nice photos, though. When we took a bus tour to Yosemite the main bridge was shut so we did end up going around the south end. I don’t recommend it.
