LightHouse

and a squeak by win for the Valkyries.

I think I mentioned that I have season tickets. The home games are in Chase Center, SF in one of the revitalized areas of the city. Yes, I think a lot of it is probably built on fill, but so far nothing is sinking. The games are held at Chase Center. That means, at least for those of us in the East Bay, the only sensible way to get there is public transportation. Yes, parking contracts were offered. But seriously? 900$? And that doesn’t include the pain of driving, the fuel and the additional cost of the Bay Bridge Toll. Anyway. BART to the N-Judah and we walked from 4th & King. (Return was the S to Powell Street & BART). Since parking is free at N-Berkeley BART on weekends..

The game itself went from cheering to stress and back. At one point, the Valkyries had a 20 point lead over the Seattle Storm. That lead went to almost nothing in the 4th quarter before they managed to squeak back to win 76-70. Too many sloppy passes and missed baskets. But the crowd is amazing

Second – the Light House is done (actually, this was before the game, but in courtesy – the non-craft types can stop reading here)

A lot of stitches in this piece for the size (about 9k). 18 ct Zweigart Smokey white and BeStitchMe Silks.

I also put in some stitches on the July Mini-Village & started the Haunted House. (#8/12-13).

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!
