Another great free pattern on Ravelry and absolutely excellent for plane, train, bus or car knitting. Cruise knitting even – which is exactly what I did.
Take two 100gm skeins of yarn – one variegated and the other a nice contrasting solid. The solid color becomes the garter stitch rows and the variegated is the stocking stitch. End result is that you have to purl only one row out of four and it is impossible to lose your place in the pattern.
I used 2×50 gm balls of some grey long separated from its label and a 100 gm skein of variegated in pinks-mauve-grey. Knitting till the pretty yarn ran out I then finished it off with gray in garter till it ran out as well.
