Heading West

and a little bit south if I want to be accurate.  It was a day for wandering around the ship, chatting with people, stitching, and making the mistake of attending the “Top Tier” event…

I skipped this bit of silly last cruise and today confirmed that as a good decision. I really don’t care who has cruised the most, when they started cruising, the name of their first ship (or dog, cat, horse, or sports team…. The broadcast system was extremely loud, the singers weren’t great, and we escaped out the back as soon as reasonable.  There was some interesting information provided: ~ 2800 passengers of whom 2/3 are Aussies. following that in numbers are the US, Canada, NZ, & the “all the rest pool.”

From there, I sensibly decided to get away from people for a while and headed back to the cabin; joining Jill & Graeme later on Deck 14 where we noticed that one set of chairs had been switched out again. That might not seem much – but at the start of my first cruise, there was this nice set of four comfortable arm chairs along with a couple of convenient tables on Deck 14, just outside the range of the indoor pool. So what happened? Yesterday those chairs were removed and replaced with other chairs. Then those chairs were replaced by a total of a dozen lounge type chairs and three tables. This morning?

yet another set up. No clue why six chairs with two tables, nor where they found the round ottomans… We are waiting to see what new changes tomorrow will bring.

Then there is the elevator Flamingo –

The really, really weird building we saw on sail away last night –

and serious progress on Barbara Ana’s Bonkers…

And, did I mention dinner? Tomorrow – it deserves pictures…

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!
