Like many others during the pandemic, I started watching various live feeds on YouTube. The natural disasters are pretty self evident. I never expected to (nor wanted to) have first hand and up close experience with a volcano. Iceland provided live feeds…
But what turned out to be both fascinating and educational were the various wildlife cameras run by Universities or non-profits, especially those related to birds of prey. Since then, I have tuned in to Cal’s Chanel on the Campanile Falcons each spring.
Annie is back again, this time with a younger male who has been named Archie. Four eggs were laid and there has been a banner about the Hatching Party on 24 April. Well, someone forgot to get the falcons to agree. When I came upstairs this morning (early, let us not forget the cat) and opened the laptop I started to hear bird noises. Yes, that particular channel is open in a tab. Taking a quick look, there were egg shell fragments in the nest and a tiny leg moving around underneath the current parent.

The late Sue Nelson (XRX tech editor) sent a link to an eagle cam at one time. Margaret and the kids she taught found it fascinating.
