Hare today, done tomorrow

and sorry for the bad pun, but I just couldn’t resist.  I will explain in a minute

One of the things that I am finding is that the days really seem to blend into each other. To be sure I know what the date/day of the week it is – I have to clearly and carefully look at my phone. Or a wall calendar (there must be one somewhere?) or someone lets me know. As in today – it was about 1300 when I figured out that 1) it was Sunday 2) I was to have been on a Zoom call at 0830….

ah well. Excuses? Reasons?  Nothing that really washes.

One of my neighbors stopped in for a couple of hours this afternoon. She likes to sort and organize things. Me? ARGH! I will do almost anything other than clean or organize until there is absolutely no choice. Well, the Sulky threads and my desk were both at that point. Morgan happily sorted the Sulky by type and color number. In return, she was willing to take a couple of skeins of sock yarn off my hands. Excellent deal for me on both fronts! And I spent the time cleaning both the floor and desk in my craft room. I can now safely walk in and can also use the desk/sewing table, craft surface.

Which then leads me to the jackrabbit.

I just have his ear left, part of one flower and a couple dozen of those little purple&white dot things. According to Pattern Keeper, I am at 95+% complete. Not bad at all. Then I start the Raccoon as the second of the three spring critters. (The third is a really cute Ferret. And ferrets are not cute in real life).

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!
