Free Day

It is not often that I have a free, totally un-obligated day. Staying near the airport, free breakfast, free WiFi and decaf the whole day long.

I knit a bit, read quite a bit more and updated all those pesky apps that seem to multiply and change.

Then one of my Calgary friends picked me up for a Mall trip, just to have a slightly different afternoon.

The CrossIron Mills has a northern design. Not a lot of windows to the outside or high arches and excess ceiling space. In stead it is warm, bright and allows you to travel essentially in a big square complete with clear signage and a number of children’s play areas.

A number of the standard international outlets are present – H&M, Bath & Body. But there is one section devoted almost completely to sports and outdoors equipment anchored by a ProBass Shop. Your running shoes, your ATV, your fishing gear and let us not forget the hockey equipment all in one area.  Calgary Flames – love the jerseys – but at $109-134 I managed to restrain myself. It is not that I don’t want it, but seriously, where am I going to wear it? I don’t run outside and garden work is so not me.

A quiet evening spent reading and knitting.

I could really enjoy this!

Just in case you haven’t seen this video. Australia doesn’t mess around.
