Really, contrary to all indications otherwise I am neither a mountain goat nor do I claim any relationship to that species. Just because I head to the highest point in the area is no reason to think thus.
It is Just that looking down from the heights which were obviously historically important to the people who lived there lets me obtain a small glimpse into their lives. Heights are normally the province of kings and churchmen fr the Middle Ages on. And in the case of Esztegom, the seat from which the Christian church took the region over 1000 years ago.
On a major bend in the river, it is obviously the center – at least according to this map.
