Do you remember?

Fleetwood Mac?

Obviously not everyone is. They hit recognition and the start of their real recognition in 1975.  50 years ago, my friends. That was the year that I graduated from Medical School. George graduated from Law School and relocated in that fall to MN.  I need to go look, but I believe I have at least one of their albums in the original vinyl.  As I read down the list of songs on that album, I could early them in my head. Checked with Wiki and YouTube. Yep. I was remembering them correctly. It was also the era of Jefferson Airplane reforming as Jefferson Starship. I think I have a couple of their albums as well..

And looking at it – remember those 50 years. Most of those stars were my age or older. Some of them are still alive, a number aren’t. As I sit here, being  stared at by a cat who informing me that my job in life RIGHT NOW is to provide him with second supper. And once he has been fed? It is time for another nap in his cat bed, curled up and snoring.

It has been a quiet and rather slow day. I was up early, went to Costco. Noticed that the prices of just about everything are definitely on the way up. Got back home. Attempted to sort out a few things and just wound up listening to an audio book, signing up for my Valkyries tickets for next year, and doing a bit of stitching on Red Panda.

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!

If you’re familiar with Lisa Souza, the Bay Area (now gold country as of a few years ago) hand dyer of yarns etc etc at lisaknits.com, her mom was an opera singer and she sang in the warmup act for Jefferson Airplane.
