Did you spring

forward? This question obviously applies only to those living in 48?/50 US states. I know that Arizona decided a number of years ago that Daylight savings time was stupid and doesn’t play.  Smart state. They don’t have some of the issues that go along with time changes. Especially in the more northern states – that extra hour in the evening equates to more electricity used. More kids up late. And it irritates the dairy famers.

Anyway – I found the PDF’s for the Hanukkah SAL from Snarky&Modern that I started in 2022 while visiting in Australia. That means that my head was saying FALL, while around me it was spring. Anyway. I had stitched the frame + the first ~four parts (which were along the left and right side.

I added the latkes last night along with some gifts. That just leaves me the menorah and the sufiyot.

More completed on the Greenhouse –

which means it is about time to move the Q-snap. ~45%

and I have a house guest.

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!

    Beautiful house guest.

Apparently Washington and Oregon have passed resolutions that if California could just have the good sense to agree, then all three will go to Standard time only together. Don’t want people changing time zones as they drive up the coast, so, they’re waiting on us.

There was a rather interesting article in the Washington Post talking about the way so-called “daylight saving” is not particularly good for your health. I wish they would ditch it here. At our latitude it is ridiculous and we are already in the wrong time zone!

Around here, I think it is more that people don’t want to give up something. Not that the particular something has any benefit. Just that “the government” took it away.
