Belize City
After the 14 days of warm weather on the Independence OTS, it was cool yesterday. I overhead people complaining about the cold and the breeze. Of course for me, being on the starboard side of the ship meant we were in the morning shade on the run past Cuba bound for Belize, then Cozumel the next day.
I know that cruising for some of you seems like an insane way to spend time and money. For me, it is relaxation. I don’t have to cook or clean. Especially the clean – this summer I am going to have to tackle the two halls and get back to the clean out/haul to the recycle center effort. But I am not looking forward to having to make it through 35 years worth of stuff that we have, especially since a fair amount of it either belongs to the kids, or is being saved for the kids, or just needs a good home.
But anyway. After a rather nifty storm last night involving some waves, rain and a lot of wind today dawned bright and humid. So everyone who was complaining about it being too cool yesterday is now whining about the heat.
I am relaxed, out of the port area and enjoying high speed internet at the Raddison Hotel Business Center. Inexpensive and a whole lot better than the ship.
Since it is tenders today (and I skipped all of the tours in favor of relaxing since Noah and I did cave tubing the last time we were here) I will head back at a reasonable time.
I mentioned that tomorrow is Cozumel? Tourist Mecca on the eastern Mexican Peninsula? Should be able to find internet there and will try to process photos tonight and post in the morning.
Good luck with the cleaning out, and enjoy the trip in the meantime!
