Ballerina

One of my favorite designers is Hanne Falkenberg and I have knit several of her garments over the years. The most recent one I just finished on Sat – Ballerina.

I started the jacket on the train on the way to the airport 17 April. I knit on trains, planes and especially cruise ships. I happily showed off my progress to anyone who was willing to listen. Other than substituting a chambray blue by Old Mill Yarns for the icky color that had come in the kit, I didn’t make any significant changes.

Like many of her garments – this design derives its style and drape from the use of garter stitch and short rows; a lot of both. I have just to do a wash and mild block and it will ready to become a favorite sweater to go with jeans once the weather has cooled down. I am thinking about fall cruises already.
