And staring out with a ????
Don’t you just love typo’s? This past year has been so great that I think I sent out yesterday’s email to at least half of the mailing list as … wait for it…. 2001…
And since everyone was too polite to comment on the obvious error, I appreciate it. As much as being physically younger might be really appealing. Especially on those days when it is snap, crackle, pop as I roll over and attempt to crawl out of bed – taking 20 years off the physical aspects might be really, really, nice. And honestly, all the comments that I remember about not appreciating my health and youth? I am working very, very hard on not repeating them to my children.
Isn’t that the case for many of us – channeling a parent, grandparent, favorite aunt or uncle? The vast majority of the time it isn’t planned. You just open your mouth, words drop out, and you think?!?!? What was that? When did I become this older (note – NOT old) cranky person.
Since I have been putting more hours into cleaning and organizing than I have into being productive, I think I deserve at least a bit of a break. My plan for this coming week is to spend 1-2 hours continuing to weed through the boxes, bags, and containers. I have a significant pile of books to be added to my Wee Free Library including various audiobooks. I have found that the small boxes of kids games seem to find homes in the first 24 hours.
And, when I finish the studio? Looks like it will be back to the garage….
An aside – I am not terribly worried about the CDC and their cruise ship recommendations at the present. Whether or not it is safe to cruise is more dependent on the cruise line, their procedures, and adherence to same.
A ship that 1) has provided immunizations to their crew (so that the cold chain for the vaccines is known), 2) tests crew regularly, 3) tests all passengers prior to boarding (sorry, I do not believe in home tests except for personal knowledge and self-isolation. Not acceptable for entrance to anything), 4) requires masks in ALL areas when not actively eating or drinking, 5) doesn’t allow any passengers on board who aren’t vaccinated (and yes, that means NO under 5s) ,and 6) spreads out the density of diners should be reasonably safe.
What isn’t sensible on a ship? Drink packages – more than a certain amount of alcohol and compliance with safety measures goes away. Pay as you go decreases the revenue for the ship, but increases safety. Limiting free drinks in certain lounges, casinos amounts to the same thing.
Gee, didn’t know I was going to soap box either. Have a great rest of your weekend and New Year full of joy, fun, family, good health, and safety.
