and more errands

not a very exciting or witty set of headlines, but I am quietly working my way down the list. I am starting to strongly suspect that the only person in MDW who might be able to do something about my orders is on leave this week. (and not much the local crew can do without the other set of orders being rescinded. Will have to ask if this can be done after the fact.) Meanwhile, I am attempting to deal with all the rest of the paperwork.

Tomorrow I have to haul in a whole laundry list of items in order to sit down and get my DD214 (the magic form that gives all the information on service and separation) drafted. Then turning in Dental Records and meeting with finance.

Sounds exciting? Not.

So to cheer myself up – I tackled this mess –

there is supposed to be a floor

there is supposed to be a floor

You see – things were not all that organized before I headed for Afghanistan. The ladder was not sitting there – I brought it in today so that I could put sweaters in the upper cupboards. But all those shiny plastic bag looking things are vacuum bags from the move back from the UK. We will not talk about my partner in mess – his excuses are his own.

As I waded through things – I hit that point where things feel like they are worse than when I started.

all the little stuff

all the little stuff

After all – the easy stuff – sweaters, jeans folded into the closet. Shoes rounded up and more books identified for Bookcrossing. But there is all those “too good to throw out but I have no clue where to put them things.”  The good thing is that I can finally get to my suitcase that has been sort of serving as storage since I returned from OZ….

and there is a floor

and there is a floor

I still have a pile of papers and books to sort out. Now all I have to do is finish packing my suitcase for the upcoming trip to the States. And keep looking at George till maybe he does his half?

Beautiful knitting project and great job on the room. I am sorry you are having to deal with the inefficiencies of our beloved puzzle palace and all its subsidiaries while attempting to get your real life back on track too.

In my opinion if you retire on the wrong orders you will not be able to get them changed. You’ll have to live with the results.

I would tell the powers to be to extend your service until the orders are properly written. I’d refuse to retire. You have every right to have a pissy fit. Whoever wrote the orders should be disciplined. They knew you had time constraints and they dropped the ball, big time.

Progress is definitely being made, and you can be justifiably proud of accomplishments. Inge just wants to know where you find time to knit.

You had me remembering the time we cleaned the garage by bringing
everyhting just inside to where we could see/arrange/sort/toss more
clearly. Someone stopped by, the place was a heap, and I told them, “The
    garage threw up.”

Holy Moly, Holly. Are those GLASS closet doors? How unforgiving.

It’s looking better for sure. I usually get to the “worse before it gets better stage”, run out of steam and get stuck. My bedroom closets look great at the moment. My bedroom does not. All the stuff that came out of the closets and is looking for new places to live.

Hmmmm, LLS is doing a pick-up tomorrow. They may just get much more than planned.
