Blue Eart – It is a lovely town, South and a bit west of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St Paul for everyone who didn’t grow up in the Upper Mid-West, US). After having a lovely chat with the night staffer at the Motel (she works nights, runs, errands and volunteers for the local animal shelter during the day – mostly fostering cats) I headed to Welcome Stitchery. Spending a day with Justine and various other stitchers was my excuse for the drive after all.
Hint: do not put business names into a Maps program. Use a street address. After about 15 minutes of driving around totally unable to find what should have been obvious, I reloaded Maps with an address and was directed a few short blocks away to Main Street where the shop was prominently and obviously located.
Blue Earth has street parking. Angled parking. No time limits, no meters. You know how totally insane that feels to someone living in the SF Bay Area?
Welcome Stitchery is an amazing store. Huge, carries cross stitch, embroidery, needlepoint… etc etc, and all the floss….

Anyway, I spent the day chatting, stitching, meeting people and having a relaxing time. There is a small, but lovely yarn store sharing the building. The local group of knitters meets at the location on Wednesday evenings. One of the other stitchers stayed for the evening. I may upload pictures on the blog, but will limit the length of this post (sort of).
Finding my way back to the motel wasn’t all that hard and I crashed early.
Oh, yes – I almost forgot – Sprout!
