After a quiet day of gazing at the Mountain (which apparently was completely visible in the morning (but that is what I get for not heading to the right place and looking) we boarded the train for the last leg to Anchorage. As you might not be really surprised, I skipped the dinner as well. We had had late sandwiches at the place where we were staying and more food was just beyond me.
(and it probably will not surprise you that weight is an issues for at least 2/3 of the people on this tour).
Did I mention that we failed to see any moose at Denali? So moose sighting became a majore object of this train trip. The trumpeter swans were a benefit (as were Chinooks, Blackhawks, Cesnas and other mechanical flying things).
Spent some time hanging out again on the back platform as well as just reading, relaxing and taking the occasional shot from inside the train.
Looks like fantastic countryside!
This can be a bad time of year to see moose. I hope you get to see one in Anchorage!
WOWWW!!! Gorgeous!!!
Stunning.
That is simply grand.
