Where was I?
Oh yes. Sitting in the Senator Lounge at Frankfurt Airport again. Five days home and I have no clue as to where I am with my body clock except to say that my boarding card clearly states this is the 11th and I should be on the plane around ten.
I made the train, checked in, cleared security and got coffee in the lounge. What I didn’t get was much sleep. After dinner last night I decided that I really wanted a full set of photos with me which involved consolidating from several hard drives which took hours as they were not exactly sorted. I think I have found most back to about 2003 but might still be missing a few. The rest are regular prints and going to have to be scanned. Think about it – digital has been around, but as the primary means of photographing prior to the last decade.
Just about the time I decided I should head to bed, I found that I wasn’t sleepy so I read a bit then dozed. It was sometime between three and four in the morning when I realized that I had really packed only one major project. Cool. But I hadn’t packed the pattern. Ok, should be an easy fix. Not. Couldn’t find the xerox of the relevant pages. Then couldn’t find the book to copy it again. Gave up and went for an hours sleep. When the alarm went off I got up. Gathering up the charging cord for my iPad my eyes landed on the elusive book right next to my bed; probably the only place I hadn’t looked. It took a few minutes to copy the pages which meant stuffing everything in the backpack and scrambling to get out the door.
I did mention the challenge of getting out the garage didn’t I? If not – go back a couple of days and read about the hole/trench. End result was that I have my backpack with all my gear – except for my JawboneUp connector. I have my suitcase and duffel. George will bring the camera case tomorrow. It would have been nice if I had remembered my gloves and my brain…….
