Ok – where am I? I think I know who I am but there are some days on which I might not be completely sure. Probably depends on who I want to be that day and what role to play? Blog & email Junkie? Parent? Spouse? Intrepid Traveler?
Any way – if the day is Sunday the 15th – the city is Seattle. Or more precisely a friends house on the other side of the bay looking at Mercer Island. This means that I can ignore Bosco (the chocolate lab) and the three cats (all of which have opinions on everything and only borrowed a few small scraps of yarn before being caught red-pawed. Literally in the case of the one kitty who snatched the remainders of some rose and fire red.
Flying from Seattle to San Francisco the weather was clear, beautiful but you really can’t see much from the plane. United doesn’t have as clean windows as Lufthansa is the only thing that I can presume.
We are staying downtown again at the Marine Memorial Club. After checking in and not bothering to get organized – I dragged a young friend who is studying in the city out to dinner. We went to the Millennium on Geary and had the most fabulous meal I have had in a long time. Considering how much I have been eating out over the last two years, that is saying a lot. Just as good or better than Wicked Foods in Banff, certainly better than any of the name restaurants associated with Fairmont, Hyatt, Claremont, Hilton etc. This is a vegan restaurant with flavor, texture and interesting, visually exciting presentations.
So Seattle, San Francisco or super – you chose.
