The Ice Man

Remember I said something about the kitchen cupboard?

the after shot

Accordingly – I started on the freezer around 0800 this morning (Wednesday).

Now, the last time I remember cleaning out the freezer was before I moved to the UK in Jan 2008. I have this really strong feeling that it was not defrosted during the entire time that I was gone. Why do I think this way?
It might be this –

frost build up

there was a lot of build up. So much so that one of the flip down doors cracked sometime in the last couple of years and several drawers were blocked from being pulled all the way out.

Several hours later – I had to hit the road and left the rest in the very capable hands of the Mole. After all, since he managed the cupboard – I figured that he could do this.

completely emptied and clean

and the drawers now all fit!

Now, I know that it may seem such a simple and small thing – the ability to have room in the freezer for food. To be able to shut the door without worrying that it will be slightly gaping and thus adding to the already desperate frost issue. But still – to have those nice clean empty drawers which, even with the food returned that had spent most of the day in coolers were still not full. The bottom two drawers had plenty of room for everything.

Suppose I should go shopping?

    That’s Inge’s philosophy . . . when in doubt, go shopping.

May I borrow the Mole – before the freezer reaches that point? No, seriously ours is in pretty good shape at present. I do try to keep the ice down because it is a horrible job!
At least you can see what it looks like now!
