The problem with both of my current projects is that they do not fall into that lovely category of mindless knitting so necessary to audio book lovers everywhere. Now I could have hauled the Forever Afghan off hold and onto my lap, but the thought of all that nice, snuggly warm wool in this weather made me shudder. The Oregon Vest won’t work – see complicated stranded below. And, amazingly enough, I have knit enough scarves and hats for the moment.
So there it was – Sleeves by Martina Behm, the hitchhiker hat and scarf woman.
It take about as much fingering weight yarn as a really large shawl but is knit out of multiple colors.
?Hey? I have multiple colors, all the in same ball! Out comes the Papagei (parrot) colored Crazy Zauberball. After my blocking challenges with the hats, I am not knitting this in either singles or loosely. Requires about 250gm of yarn. I have two packages equaling 380 gm minus that second baby hat. Should be ok.
Next challenge is finding a short enough 2,5 mm needle. After that? Seeing – when your “four balls of yarn” are actually 9 given that they came from the end of the production run – whether there is any possibility of matching the colors. I am hoping that this is not a case of a 425 meter pattern run… As a result, I am going to have to settle for pretty close, rather than exact.
starting with the garter triangle, then moving on to endless circles of knitting.
by the end of the day, I was decently pleased.
Updates on the other projects
I’m liking the way the pattern is developing
And thought you might like the hitchhats in three sizes
And then there is Analucia which is lacking 8 rows before the next clue which comes out on Friday
Oh, cute pattern! And great matching job!
You are making me want to retire and listen to my audio books and knit the afternoon away.
Oh! that pattern looks like fun!
Oh, it is! Now I am just trying to figure out the next step
hat Sleeves pattern looks like a load of fun to me. I just finished up two projects and am searching for something to take to camp next week…needs to be not too big/hot or complicated….this could be real possibility. Or, perhaps my HitchHiker shawl that stalled after the cruise last fall….ah, decisions!
