Resurrection Bay

We aren’t the Russian Explorer who named the bay – just the combined folks from Tours 13A and 13B out for a Wildlife jaunt on the water. I am skipping most of the birds and the jelly fish. While they are fine to see in person (the jellyfish not the birds) they turned out to be extremely difficult to photograph from a moving, rocking boat while heading down or away.

On the other hand – sea lions, bald eagles, humpbacked whales and sea otters were out and about. Not to mention the puffins, a lot smaller a bird than I had imagined.

Glaciers were easily visible in the mountains fronting this fjord section.

Wow! Seward. I have not been there in so long!
AK is so grand in the summer…I love the lack of darkness at “night”.

By now you have probably had the wild caught salmon…which for some reason tastes so much better while in Alaska as compared to anywhere else (especially when grilled) yum.
What?! No pictures of my ol’ pet project the New Basset AMC in Fairbanks?! 😉

FYI…to show what a small world this is…a friend of mine here in Rochester who was one of the early computer literate folks and taught me much…it’s his great great something or other who did the purchase of the folly…where you are… Oh yeah, his name is Jerry Seward…

Beautiful! We’re supposed to do this trip with some friends a year (or two) into the future…
