is on the back end of nowhere. Or at least as close as it counts when it comes to Verizon who doesn’t have service in this area.
Guess whose phone network I need…….
Anywho – we met the people we came here to meet. The area is fantastic, young mountains covered with straight pines reaching up, flowing rivers and eagles flying in the air. The air is so clear and clean that it feels like you are adding pollutants just by breathing. There has been a lot of rain this year and the clouds are hovering partway up the mountains with a fine mist covering everything.
The people here are also great but the program turns out to be not exactly right for the young man (no peer group and no transportation which would strand him worse than Heidelberg).
We will catch a train tomorrow evening toward Portland and look at a plane from there.
Moving on
Oh, that’s a shame.
Wow. Love the wide open spaces and the gorgeous scenery! Reminds me a lot of any number of small Australian towns in the middle of unspoilt nowhere.
Not sure what kind of ‘program’ they might have there, but it would have been fun to have a look.
Have a brother in [] MT which is also in the middle of nowhere with nice people and beautiful country.
Anyway, I’m sorry I missed you. I know Portland way better than Seattle. We are only 45 min from the airport, so it’d be easier for you to stay with us. Next time!
