Not 500 hats but…..

of hats – I had this sudden thought today – I have too many hats in progress.

hats x 4

I have this blue watch cap which will have a fold up brim. It is long, striped and I worked on it at a sales pitch the other day. I need to swap over to double points and just finish it up.

There is a version of the circle beret which now needs to go to double points – it is knit out of yarn with glitter.

There is the second hat for Bill which I started when I though the first one was lost. And then there is the start of a dark red beret because someone I know said she thought it was a fabulous color.

and then there is the cross-stitch which I think I failed to show a completed picture

Fractal 363 – finished 6 Feb

which leaves me to the last note of the day. It was raining off and on. There was plenty of mud in the parks. Dani cleaned this one up – before letting her into the house –

Gwen likes mud

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!

I finally realized what the fractal reminds me of: a Peter Max zebra. I really like it!

That is one muddy dog! I have been dealing with trying to keep the bird baths full for assorted birds, lizards, cats, koalas and possums – 42.7’ today – as well as trying to keep the plants alive. Not sure how successful the latter has been despite assiduous watering.

hahahahaha … the dog … I know why I will never ever have a golden or other mug loving dogs !!

    The Hats look great!

Keep it up. I really enjoy !

Not sure what brought you to the conclusion that you have too many hats going. Was it the realization that you need a circular needle and don’t want to go out and buy a 5th one?

    • Holly says:

Ah, no. not out of needles which is scary in and of itself. Now I just need to find the dps…

The upside to a bunch of hats in progress is that hats finish ip quickly…when worked on.

    Keep dodging raindrops,

The cross stitch is BEAUTIFUL! I will just stand back slightly from Gwen. Although mud is usually excellent for the microbiome. We finally know what mud masks are supposed to be good for beauty, lol.

Gwen looks like she had SO much fun!
