NCL Bliss to Alaska

The following post is courtesy of Sea=Tac’s free wifi. George dropped me off at OAK this morning in plenty of time for coffee and my 0630 flight. We actually arrive in Seattle almost 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Not sure how long it is going to be, but I have the cruise line shuttle booked for whenever it leaves. The by far cheaper alternative would have been to take the light rail type connector into the city center and walk a few blocks. Just didn’t feel like doing that.

The map above translates to

Saturday, August 17  Seattle, WA  5:00pm departure

Sunday, August 18 At Sea

Monday, August 19 Sitka, AK. 11:00am -6:00pm

Tuesday, August 20 Juneau, AK  7:00am-1:30 pm

Tuesday, August 20 Endicott Arm, AK. (Cruising)

Wednesday, August 21 Icy Strait Point, AK. 7:00am3:00pm

Thursday, August 22 Ketchikan, AK 6:30am1:00pm

Friday, August 23Victoria, BC, Canada 8:00pm- 11:59pm

Saturday, August 24 Seattle, WA 6:00am arrival

I have a transfer booked but a mid afternoon flight so will wind up killing time again. Updates will be regular, but most likely anytime I hit the US phone system since I can totally live without paying for WiFi on ship. I get 150 minutes free. In the past, it has normally taken 5-10 minutes each time to get through the log in system. Try9ing to remain, but sailing on the NCL Sun a year ago spring is an  older ship. Haven’t been on the Bliss since her Maiden TA in 2018 so it should be interesting.

About Holly

fiber person - knitter, spinner, weaver who spent 33 years being a military officer to fund the above. And home. And family. Sewing and quilting projects are also in the stash. After living again in Heidelberg after retiring (finally) from the U.S. Army May 2011, we moved to the US ~ Dec 2015. Something about being over 65 and access to health care. It also might have had to do with finding a buyer for our house. Allegedly this will provide me a home base in the same country as our four adult children, all of whom I adore, so that I can drive them totally insane. Considerations of time to knit down the stash…(right, and if you believe that…) and spin and .... There is now actually enough time to do a bit of consulting, editing. Even more amazing - we have only one household again. As long as everyone understands that I still, 40 years into our marriage, don't do kitchens or bathrooms. For that matter, not being a golden retriever, I don't do slippers or newspapers either. I don’t miss either the military or full-time clinical practice. Limiting my public health/travel med/consulting and lecturing to “when I feel like it” has let me happily spend my pension cruising, stash enhancing (oops), arguing with the DH about where we are going to travel next and book buying. Life is good!
