Day 14 – At Sea
This is the last of our six days at sea. By this time, anyone who likes places to go or things to do is bored out of their minds.
Certainly it was confirmed by the Austrians (two of over 400 on board) who I sat with at breakfast or the Welsh couple (retired British Air Force) with whom I shared conversation later in the lounge on 12th.
But we did spy some land early this morning, a small chain of islands that appeared off starboard around 0700. Apparently a sanctuary, it was only a bit of mountain top rising from the ocean.
And then there was this bit rising up which caused more than a few laughs.
Knitting
After finishing up the first half last night, I steadily knit through the 100 decrease rows on the Mein Weg back.
Now to start the front, but after doing the front bands for the Kauni.
Audio Books
The Last Coyote by Michael Connelly, then started Trunk Music by the same author. I am going through the Harry Bosch books fairly in order. It helps to have heard/read the previous in the series although not mandatory.
Through disk 4/10 of Lost in a Good Book by Jasper Fforde. Like many other people, I complain like mad when an author spends too much time out of the first few chapters reviewing material from previous books in the series. In this case, not having read any of the previous books means that there is a lot that I am just not capturing. Add additionally that the point of view keeps changing from first person to background description along with too much dialog that is not labeled ……
Unlike the Nursery Crime series, this one is perhaps best read if you can’t listen to the books in order.

Wow Mein Weg is coming along quickly! Looks like you will have a warm sweater done for when you return to the grey and rainy German weather. *smile*
