    • The % is misleading – it has nothing to do with either the level of disease or the current point in the epidemic. Deaths are related to cases that were exposed 5-20+ days ago. Same with cases recovered – only tells you how long the country has been involved, which you can also tell by how many days they have been on the list. Both the JHU and Worldometer sites are better, give you more accurate information and update continually. Especially the Worldometer site provides links to their sources.

  1. I’m with you on the homemade mask. I even saw a video on how to make one from a single sheet of paper towel. Not sure what good that would do. It reminds me of when I used to get visitors to my blog searching for “knitted bandages for lepers”. Why on earth would you knit them when sterile rolled gauze is abundant? (And now you too will get people looking for bandage patterns!)

    • A number of nurses in my area are planning on picketing – just to make the point that individuals at high risk, especially of high dose exposure, do not need inadequate protective equipment. And don’t even get me started on the lack of testing!
