and I am still waiting for my lemons.
Last week, I was thinking this week. Now I am thinking by the end of this coming week. Or maybe when the Messiah comes, which ever happens first. Those lemons just aren’t ripening all that fast. Could perhaps be because it has been a bit cool and a lot rainy? Lack of sunshine? Or just so many on the tree that they are all just hanging there with yellow starting to appear but still so solid as to not bother to pick them. (que the rest of the song which most of us remember from Peter, Paul & Mary.
George & I took Shana out for breakfast today on her birthday with a planned family dinner out tomorrow night. Unfortunately as we all get older, the realities of work, multiple people’s schedules can move a celebration. I think too, for most of us, once past a certain age a celebration the exact day may not be as important as the ability to share with family and friends.
She is our Eldest but it seems only yesterday when she was small
Looking through the photos I have, I realized that in the last couple of years I have more photos from her of her cats than of her. She is bright, capable, beautiful inside and out. I am so proud of her and glad I can claim her as my daughter.
That’s a lot more lemons than I’m getting this year. I guess mine so overproduced last year that it threw itself into the two- year boom-and-bust cycle that fruit trees are prone to.
Shana is a beautiful daughter in every sense of the word. Happy her birthday!
If you were in Adelaide you would have plenty of lemons from our tree. It has been rather hot, degs C. Our tree has dropped lemons!
We never forget how small our children were. I am sure you are proud of all of yours – as I am of ours.
Would you like me to send some heat your way?
Oh, warmth would be so nice. Not sure I need 38-40*C but still…
Happy birthday ????? Shana !!!
Wish her a happy birthday from me.
I did, forwarded it on!
You brighten my day. we have trees here as you know, but they are all palms.
Happy Birthday to Shana. Lovely tribute to her.
Beautiful words from a loving mother.
We do what we can. And hope, and pray and ……
That about sums up raising children, lol!
