Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, huge, bustling, full of contrasts. From the Central Market through the colonial era buildings to the Textile Museum.

Just out of sheer luck we stumbled on the Museum – free – it showcases both the different ethnic traditions feeding into the art and craft of Malaysia as well the wide variety of decorative arts that have flourished over the years.

From Embroidery to beaded slippers, weaving and embellishment.

From there we stopped at some history exhibits, looked at the architecture and just generally had a wonderful walk about. Perhaps it was because we were not in the red light district, or maybe it was because the streets were clean and the signage clear. In any case, I enjoyed myself here much more than the Thailand locations thus far.
