Honestly, as the years go by, I have been less and less interested in attending shul in person. The pandemic opened up possibilities for many of us. Not just those who are currently ill, but those with mobility challenges, transportation issues, financial challenges or isolated areas. This is, of course, unless you are ultra-orthodox and are unwilling to turn things on/off/use a computer.
Perhaps the biggest challenge then becomes finding a service that suits one in a compatible time zone. US East Coast is easy – Central Synagogue in NYC streams their services. Starting during the pandemic, they have continued to stream both holiday and weekly services. They are organized, have an excellent tech crew, and have long worked out the microphones and camera issues. Mt Zion in St Paul also does a good job for High Holidays (this is the shul where George & I were married). In California, I used to check in with University Synagogue in Irvine. But they have now gone to password access.
There are others. Obviously your mileage may vary.
