Isabela Island
Isabela Island – home to five volcanos whose sides all have merged to form this – the largest of the islands. All care considered still active with the most recent eruption being 2008. You can see the areas of lava flow, the locations where lava tubes have become filled with water (most of which are connected to the ocean) and the way that life just clings to any surface regardless.
Penguins & Marine Iguanas
Inhabit much the same area on the cliff face.
Urvina Bay. This area was uplifted from the ocean floor in 1954 and remains of coral and marine life can still be seen. I was glad to have my keens on – the tide was high and we did a lot of unexpected wading!
Random Crabs & Land Iguanas
And the Land Tortoise
I would add a movie, but so far it seems to be a bit too big to upload. Still working on it!
