Today started with a bang, or rather a splash as I proceeded to knock over my coffee which I had carefully placed next to my stitching chair.
Yes, I managed to mop it up right away, and no – it didn’t land on any of my stitching but still…. Not a happy start to the day. My only bit of sunshine was that the coffee was from our maker in the kitchen rather than a high priced item from my local Peet’s.
There was a bit of stitching followed by a number of errands (drop off, pick up, head back to the house, drop off again) etc before I girded myself for the drive to San Lorenzo High School and this afternoon’s vaccine clinic. It helps, when adventuring somewhere for the first time, that I am not doing it in the dark. The balance is that I will be headed back this evening after closure in the dark.
Now the tough portion – just as we finished setting up in what appeared to be a gym/study room – I received a series of calls from Dani. This is Gwen,
(picture to be added when the server decides to play).
who was having a wonderful time in the park when she fell and was hurt. No fractures as it turned out, but a 40cm+ gash running from a rear leg up her belly. Taken to the vet clinic where Dani works – she underwent 90+ minutes of surgery to clean, debrIde, and close the wound.
I left work an hour early, which was still four hours after the event and went to the vet clinic. Gwen was still in treatment but, as they are no longer a 24 hour Vet Hospital, she would be discharged later for home care. The guys went back with Dani to help bring her home. Gwen is not a puppy, and being an elderly dog on a lot of anti-inflammatory medication is not a great start.
I will keep you posted.
