or Bus to Zodiac
Anyway – yesterday afternoon we made a stop at the Belize Zoo – which is somewhere between a wild life preserve. There is wire, there are cages, there really isn’t cement unless it for visitors and all the inhabitants are local species…
We arrive at the ship late afternoon and had sometime after the usual frolic of the muster drill before dinner.
Today’s plan included a stop at Pompion Caye in the morning and Laughing Bird Caye in the afternoon. What no one had counted on was serious winds this morning resulting in an abort on the plan that had involved 2 km in zodiacs each way to get to the Caye. Lectures ensued.
We did make Laughing Bird Caye in the afternoon.
Leaving from the ship, it was a quick and easy run. Snorkeling was lovely –
as the water was crystal clear and I stayed in depths only down to about 5 meters. There were standing paddleboards available (no, not me) but we did a short run in a 2-person kayak. The waves were starting to come up as we headed back to the ship –
Diner tonight is planned with the Cal Alumni group of which we have added all the additional Cal people booked directly….
