Ok, so it is 1 Jan 2026 and NO, I do not have a first of the year finish. But rather than wait till June to start the page….. having a labeled place holder just might make it a bit easier to keep up.
January 2026
1: Fisherman’s Friend by LongDogSamplers. Started in 2025 on a cruise. Finished 6 January 2026. Stitched with Threadworx 1025 overdyed floss. Close to 17k stitches all told. This is the third of four in the fishy related series from Longdog. I am planning on starting the last (probably with the same thread) on another Panama Crossing this coming April.
2. Sailing Ship – extracted from My Chrysalis Heart (20205 – OnePointMind SAL). Started 1 Jan, finished 7 Jan. Stitched on a piece of green from Afterglow Workshop with various colors of Threadwor, both #12 perle cotton and overdyed floss
2. Tarot Coffee – pattern from Etsy. Started 8 Jan finished 11 Jan. Stitched with various Threadworx.
3. Coffin Bound Coffee – This was a collaboration (I think between WitchyStitcher & Caffeined Bat) Stitched on a neutral aida with Cottage Garden Threads. Started 25 Dec and finished 12 Jan (when I found the white for the ghosts)
4. Seasonal Skies. From Ship’s Manor – also fabric and much of the specialty Floss. I started this puppy – Mystery SAL back in 2021. I kept up through all 12 months. But the border was a bear and I kept putting it off. There are about 8 colors in each border section and they intertwine…. Finally finished 13 Jan 2026. Only modification was stitching the connecting medallions rather than slapping in six buttons in the middle…
February 2026
The one page version loaded into Pattern Keeper without a problem. Total stitches = 4149 (of which the last bit of pottery, dirt and cat = 922 stitched toady)
Started Jan (need to look up the date) 2026 and finished 1 Feb 2026. Designer is XCrossStitchPatternX on Etsy.
Fabric is 16ct Navajo Treasure from Fortnight Fabrics (it was a FOM about 4 years ago). I tried to find a current website for them without success.
Complete thread substitution including – #12-1063 Threadworx for the bright green & 12-1048 for the dark green. Chaos lettering 11215 and Threadworx 10341 for the dirt… Classic Colorworks – Titanic & Cupid for the cat & red. & Finally Pumpkin Pasty from Colour & Cotton for the Moon etc.
Mini-Village – August. From Country Cottage Needleworks. Started probably sometime in July and finished 6 Feb 2026. I stopped working on it last fall with it at about 65% and just picked it up earlier this week when I finished Chaos. It is stitched with all the called for Classic Colorworks. This completes 8/12….. I have a few other things on the list before I head to the last four in the series….
